Biography

Nancy Murphree Davis graduated from Auburn University receiving a BFA. She works in a variety of media but is best known for her watercolor painting. She grew up in Troy, Alabama with very little art exposure, but won Best of Show in a state art competition in 6th grade. Though she has been in Pensacola, Florida since 2018, Nancy has lived in California, North Dakota, Texas, Northern Virginia, and New Mexico, and the Florida Keys. She has received many awards including Best of Show in two Mobile Arts Association shows, The Pintores Art League Spring Fling, The Arlington Artists Alliance Washington Color School Show and first place in the Florida Keys Watercolor Society and the Arlington Audi Art Showcase. Her works are in the permanent collection of Arlington County, Virginia and in numerous private collections throughout the United States and overseas. She is a member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama, the Louisiana Watercolor Society, the Tallahassee Watercolor Society, and the Mobile Arts Association, and an active member of the Florida Watercolor Society, where she serves as Exhibition Director.
