Patricia Violes
French native, American adopted, living in Pensacola since 2020.
Having traveled and lived abroad since my childhood, I have taken
inspiration from the beauty and diversity of nature on almost five continents. My career path led me to work in international logistics
and freight forwarding for 20 years.
I work in two mediums — steel and Haute Couture embroidery and have a long-time love of metal craftsmanship. As an autodidact, I started to weld in 2017, using MIG and TIG processes.
My passion for embroidery started with cross-stitch and traditional
needlework in my twenties, then in 2021, I undertook to study Haute Couture embroidery and earned the official diploma in art embroidery in France.
Soon I realized the potential for marrying the two mediums.
My art is an expression of the strength and beauty of nature.
The duality of raw metal (masculine, requiring brute strength) and art
embroidery (femininity, requiring finesse) perfectly encapsulates my
own nature.
Thus, I became a mixed-media welder/embroiderer, merging metal and thread, and many other materials, into a unique art.
