Mara Viksnins is a Pensacola artist with multi-media experience and interests. She has traveled throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Her body of work includes painting in watercolors and acrylics. She is also very involved with three dimensional art such as ceramics, metal-smithing and collage. Her subject matter is as diverse as are the media she uses.
Mara’s favorite subject matter however, is the figure. “I love figurative work. Like my art, the figure is forever evolving and changing and I am entranced by its beauty. I love portrait work and I love the challenge of capturing a likeness.”
She holds a B.A. degree in Studio Art from the University of West Florida, and has attended many workshops lead by nationally and internationally known artists. She has won awards locally and nationally and is a member of the Arts Council, the Pensacola Museum of Art, the Pensacola Bead Society, the Calligraphy Society, and the Florida Watercolor Society.
Mara displays in many local galleries in Pensacola and Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, as well as in Foley and Gulf Shores in Alabama.
