Laurie Nye is a native of Pensacola, Florida.  Having married a military man, she has traveled extensively throughout the United States and overseas.  She began painting in her twenties and has continued her art studies to the present.  She has studied oils, acrylics, fabric painting, stained glass, collage, mixed media, pastels and watercolor.  In addition to displaying at Quayside Gallery, she also shows her work at the Eastern Shore Gallery in Fairhope, Alabama.
